Flex-Able

Flex-Able is designed to encourage people to complete their course of physiotherapy exercises.

We found that many patients were unsure as to whether the movements they were doing were correct.

Also, due to the often gradual recovery process, they did not feel that their condition was improving.

Flex-Able combats this by offering screen-based feedback that compares the motion being performed, detected via a wearable item, against a target motion which is recorded in the doctor's presence.

The patient's progress can be recorded to check adherence and to inform where they are on their recovery journey.

This was a collaboration with Elizabeth Hyde, Jin-Young Kim and Hugh Laughlin.
