Made In China

We looked at the issue of rural to urban migration as part of a university trip to China.

Cultural identity was slowly being lost in the process and we decided to address this problem.

Our system incentivised people to take up craft-based careers in rural areas.

We then established an emotional and economic link to urban sellers and buyers.

Concepts for modern products, such as lacquered jugs, were also developed.

This was a collaboration between four RCA students and two from the host university of Tsinghua.
